Would a returning World War II veteran have bought a 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan?
Does that seem to be a vehicle they would have chosen? What vehicle was most commonly bought by WW2 Veterans (right after or shortly following WW2).
Yes I know that, thing is though not everyone bought cars afterward, also notice I said following World War II or after it. If you’re going to troll me try harder.
PS the 1946 production year started in late 1945 betcha didn’t know that.
Check your history. The war ended in 1945. The first year of increased production of civilian vehicles was 1946.

There were 276,078 Chevrolet Fleetlines manufactured in 1948. Obviously, someone was buying them. Here’s a good article on post war auto production…

what type of flower do dragonflies prefer?
curious, doing some research for a tattoo design.
or do you have any other categories to suggest I ask this in lol
Dragonflies don’t go for flowers, as was already pointed out by GhostRider.
However, some species of dragonflies (called "darters") hunt from a perch, rather than cruising around (or "hawking"). Darters may select a pointed plant to perch on, which gives them a good all-round view of what is flying around. I normally see darters perched on long leaves such as flag and bur-reed and sometimes on rush heads.
imho, rush might make an attractive (and not incorrect) perch for a tattoo.
chris | Jan 20, 2010
Flowers will not attract dragonflies. They eat other insects, generally flies, gnats & MOSQUITOES. They will be attracted to the same areas as these buggers. They will be found around water, as this is their breeding area–just like the mosquito. Thus, a water garden will attract dragonflies to the food source & to the water for egg-laying.

Lesbians: Would you mind dating me if I…?
Would you mind dating me if I always asked you to do stuff I want to do?
I’m sort of hanging around this new girl and the last couple of weeks, it’s always been what I want to do. Strip club and food = dinner and a show. Chocolate tasting. Go Karting, laser tag, arcade. I didn’t want to go to just any Indian restaurant, I wanted one that had belly dancing. Then we went to a comedy show, a magic show, and went clubbing. Everything was basically what I wanted to do and I feel kind of selfish.
Do you personally like/mind it when a girl pretty much makes all the date suggestions?
This question mainly focuses on what YOU personally want.
I’ve asked the girl I’m seeing if she wanted to do anything specific because I’ll be down with it since she did all that stuff witih me and she just smiled and said but I love doing what you do. So yeah.
Just want to do a poll on lesbians, whether they rather be the one who suggest or have their date make the decisions.
I would love to date you. Well, UH! Uh! I don’t think you would want to date me. I am not your preferred gender nor a lesbian. But I have read some of your questions and answers and find you to be very interesting. You also have some great ideas for entertainment.
jollyjoe | Feb 02, 2010
Well I wouldn’t mind cuz I would want her 2 hav fun.
But it would be nice to ask her if she wants to do anything
Destiny Vega | Feb 02, 2010
no. i mean ill let you do what you want but if its just you, you, you ,and what you want then id get the idea that in a relationship itll always just be you and what you want. thats not what i look for in a relationship. i want someone who wants to do things that not only they like but also take the time to know me by doing things i like. so id date you but prob wouldnt get into anything with you relationship wise.
Grrrr!s randomness baby;) | Feb 02, 2010
No, I don’t mind at all. I like my girl to know what she wants.
Besides, you’ve got a whole lot of cool stuff on the list… I bet the girl you took out enjoyed herself. I know I would!
4udr3y | Feb 02, 2010
There’s no problem doing what you want to do if she’s okay with it, but if she specifically asks to do something once in awhile you should do what she wants to.
that carrie girl | Feb 02, 2010
I probably would. Just because I like to have a say in things. I wouldn’t be all control freak but I’d be nice to do something I wanted. Unless your partner has fun just being with you and doesn’t mind what you guys do then I’d say keep it the same
So basically, just ask her what she wants to do. :p

i’m usually terrible at making decisions on what to do with other people. so when someone else suggests something it’s great, and on the inside i’m like ‘oh gawd, thankyou! now i dont have to rack my brain for five hours!’. plus i have fun doing pretty much anything with other people, just being around their personality makes me happy.

IMDB rating: 7.90 Plot: “The summer I was eight years old, five hours disappeared from my life. Five hours, lost, gone without a trace…” These are the words of Brian Lackey (’Brady Corbet’ (qv)), a troubled 18 year-old, growing up in the stiflingly small town of Hutchinson, Kansas. Plagued by nightmares, Brian believes that he may have been the victim of an alien abduction. Local Neil McCormick (’Joseph Gordon-Levitt’ (qv)) however, is the ultimate beautiful outsider. With a loving but promiscuous mother (’Elisabeth Shue’ (qv)), Neil is wise beyond his years and curious about his developing sexuality, having found what he perceived to be love from his Little League baseball coach (played by ‘Hal Hartley’ (qv) veteran ‘Bill Sage’ (qv)) at a very early age. Now, ten years later, Neil is a teenage hustler, nonchalant about the dangerous path his life is taking. Neil’s pursuit of love leads him to New York City, while Brian’s voyage of self discovery leads him to Neil - who helps him to unlock the dark secrets of their past. Based on the acclaimed novel by ‘Scott Heim (II)’ (qv), “Mysterious Skin” explores the hearts and minds of two very different boys who come to find the key to their future happiness lies in the exorcism of their collective demons. |

Any movies like "Thirteen" or "Mysterious Skin"?
I’m interested in those coming of age movies, even though "Mysterious Skin" has to do with a very sensitive subject such as pedophilia and rape. But about like, "rebellious" youth and such .

Very confused about boyfriend!!!!!!!!?
Ive been seeing this guy for about a month and a half, he’s so nice and sweet and I have so much fun with him. Thing is, he hardly evers texts me, and he doesnt seem to mind if we dont get to see each other for 2 weeks straight. He hardly kisses me goodbye and its like im just a friend sometimes. I often stay with my best friend from college and he lives in the same building so Ive often stayed at his place (yes in the same bed but never ever got physical and we do not intend to, it was purely just him putting his arms around me and falling asleep!) I’m not clingy, though it sounds like I am but its quite annoying because I cant talk to him about it! Everyone is telling me to talk to him about it but I cant because he rarely texts/calls so we never have a proper conversation. I’m not expecting him to make all the effort, I text and call him but most of the time I dont get a reply or he doesnt answer my calls! I dont wanna break up with him because i really like him, he’s the nicest guy ive ever been with as I’ve been very badly abused by guys before (sexually and verbally), but this is really bothering me!

I would talk to him about it, sounds like he just needs a boot in the @ss to get him motivated, he doesn’t seem to be making enough effort with you. Shouldn’t be one-sided! Just be honest with him.
EDIT: woops, I just read the ‘i can’t talk to him’ part. No way about it he’s going to have to?! Text him telling him you’ve gotta talk to him about the way things are going or something he may just be shy and need encouragement or whatever, I don’t know, but you’ve gotta find some time to communicate with him because otherwise there’s just not going to be a way around.

maybe he just likes the fact that "he’s seeing you" im not sure if there’s attraction from his side.
or
maybe he’s one of those guys that dont know how to communicate or show affection
but i would talk to him about it…just ask him to call you when he’s free or see him in person and ask him. it wont last if it keeps going like this
loveable luv | Jan 13, 2010
Without being too brutally honest, and to quote Sex and the City, it really does sound to me like he’s just not that into you. I’ve had that in the past, and it took me weeks, even months, to figure out I was wasting my time. It also took me meeting the guy I’m currently seeing to realise the difference: we’ve only just started seeing one another but he texts me every few days, he is always kissing me and holding my hand on dates, and within 2 days of our first date he’d already called to arrange the second. The guy I was seeing before was a lot like what yours sounds like - he only really contacted me when he was bored, or horny, and although he wasn’t ever horrible to me, he was pretty distant and not really bothered if we went a while without contact.
As much as you probably don’t want to hear it, this is probably as good as it’s ever going to get with this guy. Talk to him if you want answers, but otherwise I’d recommend cutting your losses, forgetting him, and finding someone who really is into you and will give you the attention you deserve. It’s sad but true - if someone genuinely likes you and is interested, they aren’t happy going a long time without seeing you, they make excuses to talk to you as much as possible. Think about how you act when you like someone - people aren’t that different, so if you’re not receiving that kind of attention and interest, its probably because they aren’t that bothered.
Hope that helps.
twilightdogstar | Jan 13, 2010
In the book "He’s Just Not That Into You" Greg Behrendt points out that any guy who’s not trying to get into your pants (even if it’s just kissing) is not that into you. And if he’s not making the effort to contact you, he’s just not that into you!
So try a little experiment. Stop calling, stop texting, go out and try something new to keep your mind off him (cooking classes, windsurfing, a new coffee shop, anything!) and see how long it takes for him to contact you.
While you’re at that coffee shop, you might consider reading "He’s Just Not That Into You" (Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo); I saw it on Oprah, bought it, and it changed my life. I recommend it to everyone =)
Good luck hun

I'm having so much trouble with my ex husband and him having the kids..Please help?
He’s nasty hardly sees his kids threatens me and sends abusive texts.
For Christmas he wrapped up second hand games. I hardly get a break cos he’s in the army and sees them as and when he wants. The whole thing is draining me.
I’m trying to get hold of my solicitor but the phone’s just ringing.
I can’t take it anymore I’ve just had enough of this for the past 2 years. He’s awful.
True; he may be their ex and he may give them second hand things BUT SURELY MY KIDS ARE WORTH MORE THAN SCREWED UP BROKEN BOXES OF OLD GAMES?
there is only one way try and get an emergency court ruling saying when contact is made then it will be clear for both parties if he lets you down try not to worry these things take time you have a happy new year.
Random | Dec 30, 2009
Well, by the sounds of him, is this the sort of person you would like looking after your kids? If he cannot be bothered to visit the kids, he obviously doesnt want to or just does not have the time to. Solicitors should help with advice but remember it is Christmas so they may not be open until after the new year.
Lisa | Dec 30, 2009
The important people in this are the kids so no matter how horrid your relationship is with your ex husband you must try very hard not to let your feelings for HIM impact on the children.
Make a visitation schedule and stick to it. Arrange holidays at the beginning of the year.
Get the support of other family members, get them to have the children for short breaks and weekly stopover so you can get a rest. Don’t leave your ex’s parents out, they have lost regular contact with their Dad, they still need their paternal Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc.
YOU don’t have to see your ex at all other than handing them over at the doorstep or arrange regular supervised visits at another location where you do not see him at all. Warn him that any further threats or abusive texts will be dealt with by the police and courts.
What he buys the children for Christmas is no longer anything to do with you. Don’t say anything negative about him to your children. He may be your EX but he will always be their FATHER.
bella | Dec 30, 2009
sounds one arseole to me hun ….. get rid ! happy new yr x
Trev | Dec 30, 2009
Oh hun I know exactly how you feel, my ex is a deadbeat and turns up now and again. I don’t have any family near me so that also makes it hard.
If you do have some family around then use them to your advantage. If you can get them to look after the kids even one weekend a month it really will make a difference. Again if you have any good friends ask them to babysit once in a while. Even a few hours of me time will help you.
The one thing not to do is expect it to change. If he’s not interested then no matter what the courts say he will just not turn up, and would you really want them to be with him when it’s being forced on him.
Me and my kids are now in a great routine. I work part time and that gives me some space and independence. You don’t say how old the children are, so it’s hard to say what’s best. If they are in school try and get a job that you can work round them. It’s amazing how good it will make you feel. If they are not at school yet then are there any other people you know with kids. Why don’t you all get together every week for a coffee and let the kids play. The adult company will also help you.
I do know how this feels, and I also know that you can do it. It may feel overwhelming most of the time, but if you just change the little things you will feel better, but you must stop expecting your ex to do anything. If you realise you are on your own, you will deal much better. That what I did. I do everything for them, and expect nothing from my ex (to a point). If he wants to see them he does and it’s a break for me, but if he doesn’t we just get on with it.
It will get easier, please believe me. He is the loser in all of this, he just doesn’t realise yet.
Just do your best, take help where you can get it, and take it easy on yourself.
My thoughts are with you. If you want to e-mail me please feel free.
Helen S | Dec 30, 2009
This kind of question will be asked by women for the next 1000 years. As long as women keep marrying losers they, like you will suffer, like you. Before you marry someone, take time to assess him correctly, and listen to opinions of others.
A decision to marry someone should only be based on self interest and not the interests of the other person. That is for him to worry about. The decision to have children with the person should be even more carefully assessed.
This guy was awful way before you allowed him to reproduce with you. You probably chose to overlook his bad side. This is the result.

Family Preasuring me to have social life what do I do?
ever since I was in 6th grade I have been picked on. First it was for my weight so I stopped eating junk and ate nothing but salad for months and the weight came off. Then in 7th grade it was for my freckles. I always liked my face and never thought anything of it but then when people started to point it out my mind saw the flaws. Then in the start of 8th grade it was that fact that I was white that made me a target because most of the school was mexican and black so its only fit that I would stand out. It got SO bad I came home crying everyday to my mom and dad and they finally put me in charter school. Things have been great for about 4 months now but my mom is saying im gonna be a loner because my friends go to different schools and I don’t get to see them often and because I have NO interaction with kids my age. I have been trying to tell her that since I was treated so terrible in school that my confidence to even Speak to others is still a little shattered and that’s the 100% truth. I looked in adds just to get her off my back and found a drama department that I HAVE to attend but now my sister is telling me that im a lonar who will never have friends and that im a freak for always being in the house and now I feel worthless. i want to know how I can get them off my back. Should I just take the class even though im scared history will repeat its self or should I try to tell them how I feel for then 12th time? PLEASE help I feel you guys are my last option for help putting up with this.
Tell them to F*ck off, should get their attention.
Meppy | Jan 03, 2010
Tell them that you go picked on enough at school and that you don’t want to be picked on at home as well. I’m sure your parents would feel bad if you put it that way. Let them know that you’ll start making friends when you’re good and ready.
Just remember that the most important thing is that you feel good about yourself. I got picked on so much in school, but now I have so many friends that I love and care about. I was a loner myself for the longest time because I was always so afraid of people judging me. But I opened up to people when I worked on myself first.
Kitty | Jan 03, 2010
Okay, I’m trying to think how to word this because it’s not easy to explain.
Life is what you make it, so the next time someone pokes fun of you because of your weight or freckles or whatever else, laugh. Laughing releases endorphins, which make you happy. So even if you don’t feel like laughing, do it. It doesn’t have to sound real, although eventually you’ll start to laugh for real because you’ll feel silly… but that’s okay! Plus, by laughing at yourself those who aren’t worth your time will leave you alone and those that are will like you for being able to laugh at yourself. Show people your good qualities!
I’d say don’t do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, but at the same time if you don’t try you’ll never have a chance. Your parents are listening to how you feel I’m sure, they just are trying to show you that sometimes it’s worth a shot. You’re going to get hurt in life, it’s just how things are. But if you are always afraid of that, then you’ll never truly live at all. I’d say take a chance in something that you enjoy doing and that you’re good at, that way it will be easier to make friends with people in that group because they will have the same interests as you.
Don’t let others get you down. It’s easier said than done I know, but it’s a good goal to shoot for. As you grow up, you’ll realize that it won’t matter what people say to or about you, but what you do in return. Focus on yourself, become the wonderful woman that you can be and show everyone that they should want to be your friend because you’re awesome.
this_is_for_work | Jan 03, 2010
Well human beings are social creatures, my dear girl. You need some form of social interaction, or you will quite likely suffer from some form of mental decadence. If, say, you have one close friend, that is all that is necessary. IF you have no friends, or any semblance, then test the waters. If you are rejected, swim elsewhere. I caught shit for 16 years ( I’m still 16), from all kinds of people, for all kinds of things. I didn’t run around trying to make friends, mind, but I wasn’t entirely closed off…. IF I was approached I was polite, and eventually I made a friend. One. But he’s like the brother I never had, and I don’t need alot of friends, and if people try to say anything about how i must be lonely, well I tell them, and you can too, "You get used to it after a few years"
N.S. | Jan 03, 2010
don’t make such a big deal of what people say about you…they’re not the ones living your life…and you’re perfect just the way you are..no in the world is like you..you’re special..but you can’t expect yourself to please everyone…
and yeah..take a risk…go ahead and find out..if this happens to you again just remember that not all the time you’re always gonna be left out…sometimes…some people just aren’t meant to be your friends…but how will you know that they are..or not..unless you try…
you could try making friends in your new school..its not so hard…they’re just like you…they also have problems of thier own too..

They will have phone numbers of people to call to pick up the body. I think it cost me about $350 to have the body picked up and hauled away. I don’t know what they do with the bodies- I didn’t ask. To me, dead is dead.
Your vet will also know if it is legal to bury the body on your property in the area where you live. If you are sentimental, this may be a better option. You would need to find somebody with a backhoe or other construction equipment to dig the hole and enough land to make it possible. There are also pet cemetaries that will accept horses but I’m sure this is very expensive.

Mortality rate, equine AND HUMAN, is 100%. Just thought I’d remind you. The, er, horse "carcass" is just an empty shell now, as the soul is gone elsewhere, just as your body will be an empty carcass, a disposable shell, when you die. Your soul and spirit will go elsewhere, and, far be it from me to judge, but good chance your invisible parts will be descending, not ascending. Of course, I may be wrong, but you may want to ponder that. Stupid troll antics are indicative of a rather depraved creature. . . .
PS Apparently some readers actually think you had a horse and it died.

THAT’S OUTTA ORDER, u hav no respect to that horse, u dont say stuff like i widh i could flush my horse, you must have been the worst owner in the world!!!

I don’t even know how you can joke about your horse dying. And your question makes me think you didn’t think properly through about having a horse, if you don’t even know what to do with it.
Anyway, moving on, horses can cost a lot to be properly disposed of, in my area it can cost anywhere between ?500 - ?800, depending on your area and size of the horse. Look in your phone book or on the web, there are plenty of companies that specialize in this.
And also burying it without permission is illegal. So I really advise you don’t.

Poor troll. first your hamsters, then your cat, and now your horse. and all within 20 minutes of each other. Hope you have a good septic.
here’s the last post from our troll folks….
When a pet dies is it acceptable to throw it in the trash?
That’s what my mom did to all my hamsters. Sometimes she’d throw one away and buy a new one and think I wouldn’t know, but then I took out the trash and I’d see it on top.
I’m just asking because my cat died and I don’t feel like bothering much with it
Also, what about flushing pets down the toilet? Is it ok if they are small, and can fit (like hamsters, fish mice etc).

it may sound weird but you could burn it. i did it twice with my old (dead) horses. If you really loved the horse you could keep the ashes, i did that too
Evra | Nov 22, 2009
Wow, do you really have such a boring life that you need to joke about a horse dying? That is just sad and pathetic. I never thought I’d get the chance to say this truthfully, but you ARE a pathetic loser. Go get a life!
EDIT-
Haha I looked at your other questions about animals dying. You are just a sad excuse for a human being.
Kandi Korn | Nov 22, 2009
That is a very insensitive way to state that your horse has moved on. But if you do really care, you could contact someone in your area to cremate the carcass, I believe that is the best way, even if it’s expensive. You can also bury him/her at the farm where you boarded him/her or in any big field really, but you need permission and time. Please take the time to take care of your horse properly.

Is this for real? Despite all the good information there is to be found on this site, I have a hard time believing any responsible horse owner would jump straight to Yahoo Answers about something like this and wait for responses before using their common sense and doing the logical thing which is to….wait, are your ready for this? You may want to write it down…CALL YOUR VET!!!!
Just to be clear, it’s mot because they can save the poor animal at this point, but they can give you all the information you need and refer you to someone that can help with the body!
Andy why is this horse all of a sudden being referred to as "it" rather than he or she? It just seems a bit insensitive. One more reason I wonder if this is real…
rocketsroyalflush | Nov 22, 2009
Sorry people are being so afull to you when all it seems like is you trying to make light of the situtation. ppl are idiots. call the vet and you can have him cremated which is the best way. ive known of foxes being able to dig up the carcasses and eating them and personally selling the body to dog food companies disgusts me. You can put it in a jar and keep it in the house or barn as a memorial, or you can let the ashes blow into the wind like your horse is running free. Im sorry for your loss and that people are being so mean to you!
Edit:
Wow i just read all your other posts. You are on quite a killing spree now girl! Could the troll not find any fresh dead children to eat?
Mountain L | Nov 22, 2009
Troll now you just have to wait for karma to do its business.
wowza- | Nov 22, 2009
I honestly dont think you ever owned a horse in your life… ALL horse owners wouldn’t joke about their horse being dead. why ask people on yahoo! answers on what to do with the "carcass" when the barn owner would have told you what to do. you really don’t have a clue on the feeling of losing a horse.
Skybaby21 | Nov 22, 2009
2 pts!!!
SCORE!
A Timeless Hocus | Nov 22, 2009
why the hell would you joke about that! hope you get flushed down the toilet!!!
xxHighlandponiesxx | Nov 22, 2009
Thats really pathetic, making jokes about dead things… I actually lost a horse last year and its really a tough thing. think about loosing your dog or cat, and how much it hurts… times 10.
Kitty | Nov 22, 2009
Why would you joke about what to do with it? That is horrible
Hunter Jumper Girl | Nov 22, 2009
Im reeeeely sorry for your loss but thanks for the points
MICHAEL | Nov 22, 2009
Your are a horrible person.
Amyy | Nov 22, 2009
Not even funny. I just had my horse cremated, and it was one of the most horrible events in my life. Troll somewhere else.
Live4Horses/R.I.P Bond -10/18/09 | Nov 22, 2009
Pathetic.
You really need to grow up.
anotherplacetofall_2006 | Nov 22, 2009
You need to work on your trolling. This is actually a common question among horse owners who don’t quite know everything yet. At our barn we call a guy who comes in a large truck and picks up the body. I’m pretty sure he just burns them but not entirely sure.
Since most companion horses get other injections and such besides the needed vaccines the bodies can not be eaten. And with the oils and shoes we put on the hooves you can’t really make jello out of them.
