waiting on a deer wishing on a star out in the backwoods?
thats all i can remember of the song..anybody know the title or artist?
thanks!

That is from my favorite song, Josh Turner’s "Backwoods Boy"

I woke up at 5 a.m., put on my camouflage
Wiped off my .243 and fired up my Dodge
Headed out to my old deerstand back in the pines
Gonna get me a ten point buck with 11 inch tines, yeah

Settled in, hidin’ from the wind, waitin’ on the sun
You might end up being my supper if you get in the way of my gun
It’s so still I can hear the train from ten miles away
If I’m here eight hours from now it’ll be okay, yeah

‘Cause I’m a backwoods boy, grew up on a dirt road
I’m a backwoods boy with no better place to go
Waitin’ on a deer, wishin’ on a star, I’ll always be true to my heart
‘Cause I’m a backwoods boy, I’m a backwoods boy

Sittin’ on the back of Lynches River with a little campfire
Sleepin’ on the ground, diggin’ the sound of a backwoods choir
Talkin’ to the man in the moon way up in the sky
He told me to let my worries roll on by, yeah

Cause I’m a backwoods boy, grew up on a dirt road
I’m a backwoods boy with no better place to go
Waitin’ on a deer, wishin’ on a star, I’ll always be true to my heart
‘Cause I’m a backwoods boy, I’m a backwoods boy

I’m a backwoods boy
I’m a backwoods boy
Backwoods boy
I’m a backwoods boy

Artist: Bryan Luke
Song: Drinkin’ Beer And Wastin’ Bullets
Album: Doin’ My Thing

Out in the sticks and the squirrels and the ticks
Andy my 30-06, I’m runnin’ out of Miller Lite
Trucks in park, the dog won’t bark
Couple hours till dark
Wishin’ one would walk by
Might as well left my gun in the gun rack
Been here all day
All I killed’s a twelve pack

Chours
Sittin’ here waitin’ on a deer, drinkin’ beer and wastin’ bullets
Aimin’ at the empties, missin’ hittin’ pine trees
It ain’t my fault them cans keep movin’
My baby’s on the phone sayin’ baby come home
Where you been and
What you’ve been doin’
We’ll I’ve been, sittin’ here, waitin’ on a deer
Drinkin’ beer and wastin’ bullets

The only deer I’ve seen’s been John Deere green
And that don’t mean, that I got a raw deal
‘Cause ain’t no boss callin’ me hoss
Tickin’ me off on the edge of this cornfield
on my second box of Winchester hundred grains
Ain’t seen a big buck but it’s been a good day

Chorus(x2)

Sittin’ here, waitin’ on a deer,
Drinkin’ beer and wastin’ bullets

These nine lives all connect and revolve around the game show “What Do Kids Know?”(WDKK), where a team of three kids play against adults and everytime the show is on, there is a new team of adults and the kids remain; if they won the previous game. Earl Partridge (the late Jason Robards) produced “WDKK” when it was first on in the late 60s. He is dying of brain and lung cancer and is being taken care of by Phil Parma (Philip Seymour Hoffman), a male nurse. Linda, Earl’s trophy wife (Julianne Moore) starts to fall in love with Earl for real, despite her cheating. Earl, rapidly dying on his bed, asks Phil to find his estranged son, Frank T.J. Mackey (Tom Cruise), who grew up hating Earl and now runs a seminar for single men, which teaches them how to seduce a woman and leave her… The host of “WDKK”, Jimmy Gator (Philip Baker Hall), is also dying, but not as rapidly as Earl. He has a very rocky relationship with his daughter Claudia (Melora Waters), who sniffs crack 24/7 and accuses her father of sexually molesting her. Police Officer Jim (John C. Reilly) goes to Claudia’s house after getting called about a disturbance. He falls in love with her right away… Stanley Specter (Jeremy Blackman) is a contestant on “WDKK”, who is a genius and is being used by his father to make money. If Stanley and his team keep winning, they will set a record on the show and get tons of money. The record Stanley is trying to beat is the 1968 record set by Donnie Smith (William H. Macy), who had the exact same childhood when he was on the show and has now grown up to be a pathetic loser. He’s been recently fired from his job, and is trying to find his way into happiness…

Birmingham Sunday - Langston Hughes HELP!?
Who knows what the Chinese references mean???

Four little girls
Who went to Sunday School that day
And never came back home at all–
But left instead
Their blood upon the wall
With spattered flesh
And bloodied Sunday dresses
Scorched by dynamite that
China made aeons ago
Did not know what China made
Before China was ever Red at all
Would ever redden with their blood
This Birmingham-on-Sunday wall.
Four tiny little girls
Who left their blood upon that wall,
In little graves today await:
The dynamite that might ignite
The ancient fuse of Dragon Kings
Whose tomorrow sings a hymn
The missionaries never taught
In Christian Sunday School
To implement the Golden Rule.
Four little girls
Might be awakened someday soon
By songs upon the breeze
As yet unfelt among
Magnolia trees.
Thank You,
can you or anyone make sense of the final stanza of the poem????

It’s just connecting the color red from the blood of the girls killed to the makers of dynamite who are the Chinese who are now, after they made explosives, communist, and who’s color now is Red, but they have no connection and is quite foreign to Christianity, which was the religion of the church that the bomb blew up along with the girls.

College Algebra Question?
How do you find a polynomial function of degree 5 with -3 as a zero of multiplicity 3, 0 as a zero of multiplicity 1, and 3 as a zero of multiplicty 1 ?

function of degree 5 with :
-3 as a zero of multiplicity 3 = (x + 3)^3
0 as a zero of multiplicity 1 = x
3 as a zero of multiplicity 1 = (x - 3)

Just multiply those terms together :
x + 3
x + 3
——–
x^2 + 3x
…….+ 3x + 9
—————–
x^2 + 6x + 9

x^2 + 6x + 9
x + 3
—————-
x^3 + 6x^2 + 9x
……+ 3x^2 + 18x + 27
—————————–
x^3 + 9x^2 + 27x + 27

x^3 + 9x^2 + 27x + 27
x - 3
—————————–
x^4 + 9x^3 + 27x^2 + 27x
…….- 3x^3 - 27x^2 - 81x - 81
————————————–
x^4 + 6x^3 - 54x - 81

x^4 + 6x^3 - 54x - 81
x
—————————-
x^5 + 6x^4 - 54x^2 - 81x

Answer is :
x^5 + 6x^4 - 54x^2 - 81x

Pink Floyd: why are Led Zeppelin better than Pink Floyd (please read the details of the question)?
I am a fan of both, and followed PF from Syd’s era onwards. They make different music, and some may say they aren’t comparable. But I feel LZ has consistently made more masterpieces than PF, although some songs PF are exceptional.

If I think great PF songs over the top of my head; I think they have done some exceptional work, some good work and some average work. Their best songs are Shine on you crazy diamond, Wish you were here, Comfortably Numb, Pigs, See Emily Play, Jugband blues, Bike, Brain damage, Mother, Have a Cigar. The ones I get irritated by are: Money, Time, Another Brick in the Wall, seamus, dogs; the background helicopter, cashier, dogs, ticking clock sounds really irk me.

If I start coming up with amazing Led Zeppelin songs over the top of my head, they are endless: Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, friends, When the Levee Breaks, Immigrant Song, Dazed and Confused, D’yer Ma’ker, Tangerine, Going to California, Thank you, Rover, Tea for one, the wanton song, ten years gone, heartbreaker, good times bad times, whole lotta love, communication breakdown, rock n roll, achilles last stand, battle of evermore, ramble on, what it is and should be, rain song, gallows pole, song remains the same, babe im going to leave you, since i’ve been loving you, i cant quit you baby, all of my love, bron-y-aur stomp, in my time of dying, in the evening, the lemon song etc; and im sure there are many more im missing. But you ask people to make a top 10 list for Zeppelin, everyone will have a completely different list. In Pink Floyd’s list, you would get something similarish all the time.

I get really confused when people compare the two bands. I see why people compare them, they were two of the biggest bands of the 1970s. They’re both so great in they’re own ways. Pink Floyd is Progressive Rock and Led Zeppelin is Hard Rock, end of story.
MC. | Dec 08, 2009

No I think it just depends. I like both of them just as much. Pink Floyd has a lot more "best" songs than those you listed! But of course, each person is entitled to their own opinion. I think they’re both amazing bands with amazing musicians. I guess if you get irritated by those sounds they put in songs, then that’s understandable. But beyond the sound effects, the songs themselves are great. The ticking of the clocks and the cashier/money are great, in my opinion. Now, the rest of the sounds, not so much…
Dust N' Bones | Dec 08, 2009

Okay im obsessed wit led zeppelin and my dads obsessed wit pink floyd.
in my opinion pink floyd is a really kick a$$ band but i dont really think anything tops led zeppelin. they just have such a different sound but altogether sound really talented. they were real musicians. im not saying pink floyd isnt its just that i dont listen to them as much as i do led zeppelin.

i mean the person above me is right everyone is entitled to their own opinion they were both two very different bands and were very talented.

the thing about pink floyd though, is that they were a very different band in those times, even today and they really started a new style of music. but again in my opinion led zeppelin was "it". and they did have more masterpieces. so….
Chrissy | Dec 08, 2009

Both bands are amazing. They’re very different though, so I don’t think I could choose. but I preferebly like Pink Floyd barely a bit more. Have you ever heard the band Tool? They’re called the "modern day" Pink Floyd, and I totally see the resemblance. Both band’s songs are so deep and so much effort is put in

Anyone can be nominated. Winning is a different matter.
Warren v……yes. The point is the neocons keep making fools of themselves and keep trying to slander the Nobel Peace Prize by including the turd, Hitler.
Warren v……no, that’s not what I’m saying. Hitler was ejected pronto. He was a turd when he was nominated by another turd.

Hitler was nominated by the Swedish Member of Parliament Erik Brandt in January 1939. What many people don’t know, and obviously even his contemporaries didn’t understand, was that the whole nomination was nothing but a joke.

Brandt was a Social Democrat, a staunch anti-Nazi and one of the founders of a Swedish organization called Universal Anti-Fascist Coalition in 1938. What made him perform this practical joke was his astonishment over the naive and gullible praise of the British Prime Minister Chamberlain ("Peace in Our Time") who in his opinion put the whole of Europe in danger by yielding ground to Hitler in Munich in September 1938 by accepting the incorporation of Bohemia in the Third Reich.

12 Swedish members of parliament praised Chamberlain to the skies and nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1938 (he didn’t get it), which made the astonished Brandt respond by nominating Hitler a few months later.

Brandt seems to have been both shocked and surprised when he realized that most people, including the media, didn’t get his irony. Many people even wrote him telegrams and letters to express their thanks and appreciation for his nominating Hitler. Even the German leadership seemed happy and content about the nomination (when he actually intended to make them feel offended by the irony), so Brandt quickly turned tail and withdrew it just a few days later.

In the end, no one was awarded the Peace Prize that year.

joke- a male character (ham) asks a female character (luna) is that a banana in ur pocket? what does that mean?

It’s a very old joke, originated by Mae West in "She Done Him Wrong" (1933): "Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

Throughout the years, many variations of this line from the screenplay written by Mae West have shown up in movies of all types. Yes, it’s a sexual innuendo, but people need to recall that CGI/animated movies aren’t being directed at children only anymore. They go for a larger audience. The United States might be one of the only places that people still tend to consider animation "for kids".

If the children don’t understand the line, there shouldn’t be a problem. Most moviegoers probably do not recognize the allusion anyway.

Sounds dirty but, maybe it wasn’t meant to be.

Are you sure that’s supposed to be a joke?

let me ask u this: Y do u give a shit?
freddiethedrummer | Nov 02, 2009

it could of been a subtle way of saying is that a banana in your pocket or are you just happy to see me. because all of these new movies for kids have hidden sexual innuendo. It could also just be a stupid question that people thought was funny but my bet is probably on the sexual innuendo.

Are you sick of a namby pamby politically correct justice system we have now on murderers and rapists?
Now, I am not saying we bring back the death penalty because that would violate the UN law and I don’t think they would suffer enough, but couldn’t we bring sentences like life of hard labour and I am not talking about a prison with TV or Air Con, we should get rid of those luxuries because their are people already living in those conditions who never committed a crime and have paid their taxes, so why should some gang member, rapist or murderer get tv or air con either and when I say hard labour, I am meaning making number plates, beds, wardrobes, fury little nick nacks, t-shirts and shoes we could sell to the public and that way their would be a true justice. any comments and suggestions?

Sounds good. There’s a prison in Oregon that makes money by selling shirts that are made by the prisoners.

I think the penal system should be much harsher so that it deters people from breaking laws. It may cost more to implement at the start but in the long run if it reduces crime the overall cost would reduce.

At the moment the emphasis seems to be totally on what the system can do to fix the poor broken criminal who’s problems always seem to be the result of a damaged society but everybody forgets the victims, who are no doubt far more numerous because the criminal has no reason not to re-offend.

This is from personal experience of having to live next to the idiot who got hold of my little boy by the neck and shook him before tossing him on the ground then attacked my husband as he headed indoors to call the police. It didn’t even get to court.

Result for my husband: black eyes two scars on his forehead numerous bruises and scratches, bill to replace broken glasses.
Result for my son: recurring nightmares.
Result for the family: constant harassment by these people who feel they can do anything they like without any redress.

Result for the attacker: A bit more kudos with his mates, more confidence that he can do whatever he likes, a huge boost to his enormous ego.

Leap Frog Tag Junior? Looking for moms who's toddlers are using this?!?!?
I am thinking about getting my son this for Christmas, He is 2 and I am wondering other parents views on this toy? & Hoping to hear from some parents that have children who use this?

A couple things tat bug me is that the Tag Junior doesn’t have Many books to choose from "13" i mean that seems like plenty I guess, but A lot of the characters my son wont be interested in "WHERES A SPONGEBOB BOOK!!"…But I’m just wondering if him being able to interact with the book will help. I also don’t like that you have to purchase the Case Separately, that really bugs me since the case for for the Pen itself you will want to keep it safe from liquid, being dropped, lost, etc,… I feel like they are really sticking you on that deal, and lastly the books are decently prices I guess… $10 a book. Doesn’t seem like a lot but when you are wanting to buy 3-4 that adds up pretty quick! $30-$40!

BUT! If I can get some good reviews from parents that their actively crazy 2yr olds really like the Tag Junior then it will all be worth it. My son is active and will sit down with a book for 10-15minutes to turn the pages and look through the pictures, especially a book with his Fav Characters on them.

Thanks!!
Oh come on someone has used the Tag Junior.. lol
